Education is a huge part of the DSA mission. Education should start before the dog even arrives in the home. Learning about proper dog training and care can help you acurately assess if a dog will fit into your life. It may also help you learn what temperament and activity level you might want your dog to have. With some education, many behavior problems can be resolved because the miscommunication and misunderstanding between the dog and human is resolved. Once the dog understands exactly what the parent wants and is given motivation to comply through the use of rewards, behavior improves dramatically and so does the bond.
