Demo DVD available! If you would be interested in seeing a demo video of the training and testing for the Dog Scout test on a 45 minute DVD, see below for more info:

The long awaited demo DVD of the Dog Scout test is NOW available!  Starring Chris Puls (Moi) and Baron von Beaglestein "Bear" (my beagle.)

This DVD not only shows you how to put the test on video for review by a Scoutmaster (to get the Dog Scout badge and title for your dog), it is also a training video for all the dog's required behaviors!  It's 45 minutes in length and contains loads of training info.  For this reason the DVD will be available for $20 each.  It will also help you teach and test others if you are interested in becoming a Scoutmaster.

The fee helps cover the blank DVD's, getting them professionally copied, my time spent producing the original (this is the better of my 2 attempts to get it on video), the cost of getting it transferred from Hi 8 to DVD, the mailing envelopes, postage and the informational content of the DVD (which is priceless, so it's quite a bargain!)

If you would like a copy of this DVD so you can see how to train your dog to do the Dog Scout test behaviors, how to capture them on video and to see what the Dog Scout test should look like please mail:

  • a check or money order for $20
  • your RETURN ADDRESS NEATLY PRINTED
  • a note indicating you would like the DVD (so I don't get confused and send you my personal safety book instead)

Mail these items to:

Chris Puls, Director
DSA Certification Program
P.O. Box 158
Harrison OH 45030

As soon as I get your check, I'll get a DVD out to you.  Due to the length of the video, I'm not able to put this on a CD.  You will need a DVD player on your TV or on your computer to view the video.  If a DVD is defective, I'll send a replacement, but returns for a refund will not be accepted.  This will help prevent someone from simply making a copy of the DVD before returning it.

Viewing this DVD is not required to get the Dog Scout title.  All the info you need (including a step-by-step explanation of how to get the title using a video of your performance) is in written form in the free "Guide to the Dog Scout title" above.  It's over 100 pages long, so it might take some time to down load if you have a slow connection.  But seeing the video may help clarify what is expected and prevent the need to re-video parts of a test once it has  been submitted.

Several people have gotten their Dog Scout title by video so far.  I look forward to seeing your video!  I have the disks already packaged, just waiting for an address.  So I should be able to get them in the mail to you the day after I get your payment (often the same day.)
